Welcome to this month's edition of Lee’s Summit Apartment Living brought to you by Summit Square, our apartments for rent in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. This month we’re bringing our residents suggestions for celebrating National Cookie Month and National Pizza Month, topics surrounding upcoming holidays like Halloween and International Coffee Day, and movies you might want to check out this month. Read on to learn more about these topics in today's blog post.

October Celebrations

National Cookie MonthChocolate chip cookies

This month is National Cookie Month! Check out Great American Cookies, our local cookie store, for some delicious sweet treats! Get yourself some double fudge, snickerdoodle, or peanut butter supreme cookies for a decadent treat. Or pick up a cookie cake for a special occasion and share with your loved ones. If you want to stay in your apartment, use October as an excuse to make some homemade cookies to enjoy with a nice cup of milk!

National Pizza MonthPepperoni Pizza

Have you been to Minsky’s? Head there for a meal this month to celebrate National Pizza Month. It doesn’t matter if you prefer pepperoni or a regular cheese pizza; you’ll be able to get what you want at Minsky’s! Alternatively, you can buy ingredients at the store to make some pizzas at home. That way, you can control what type of toppings you want on your pie.

Upcoming Holidays

HalloweenFamily dressed up for Halloween

How will you be celebrating Halloween this year? There are many activities you can choose from to spend October 31st. You can head to a pumpkin patch to pick up a pumpkin to carve (make a party of it and invite friends!), go trick-or-treating with little children you know or care for, or head to a Halloween party for a chance to dress up and socialize. Take time to decorate your home with spooky decorations to get yourself in the spirit of the season!

International Coffee DayCoffee beans spilling out of a burlap sack

How do you intend on celebrating International Coffee Day on the 1st? Many people need a cup of joe to wake up in the morning, but many enjoy it as a treat during the day. We suggest visiting Gusto Coffee Shop for a nice cup of coffee on your way to work or as a midday pick-me-up.
